With great sadness we announce that Heather passed away on January 4, 2025 in Laval, Quebec, at the age of 92.
Born June 13, 1932 in Montréal, she married her beloved Edouard Filteau on July 5, 1958, and they relocated to Fabreville, Laval in 1962 where they happily built and lived their life together.
Heather also enjoyed their many years at the family chalet in Saint-Donat. An avid and skilled knitter, she made sure her children and grandchildren all benefitted from her labour-of-love.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Carole (Leo) and Nancy, grandchildren Deidra, Marissa (Dan), Olivia (Justin), Patrick and Monica, and by 6 great-grandchildren.
Heather will be laid to rest beside her father, Herbert Jay, and her mother, Helen Macbeth a Rideau Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive condolences at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, on Friday February 21st 2025 as of 11am followed by a celebration of her life at 1pm.
The family would like to thank the staff at CHSLD Idola-St-Jean in Laval for their compassionate and professional care.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Heather’s memory can be made to the Fédération québécoise des Sociétés Alzheimer or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
