Helen Elizabeth Butler (Robertson)
October 24, 1928 - October 12, 2019
Passed away peacefully on October 12, 2019 at the age of ninety.
Helen was born in New Glasgow, NS., the daughter of the late James Chapin Robertson and Hilda Mary Cutler. Beloved wife of the late Allan Hawkins Butler.
Cherished mother of Jane (Michael Donovan) and the late Allan James. Much loved Gramma of Kayleigh (Travis Fraser) and Matthew Donovan. Great Gramma of Isla Fraser. Predeceased by her sister Gwen. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. She was an active member of St. Barnabas Anglican Church throughout her life. Helen was a dedicated volunteer at her children’s and grandchildren’s schools. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother.
A private family service will be held.
If you choose to do so, a donation in Helen’s memory to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
Today I remember what she read to me as a child, “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.”
