Howard Hopkins
August 31, 1925 - November 14, 2018
Howard Hopkins passed away peacefully in end-stage palliative care
at The Veterans' Hospital in Ste. Anne-de-Bellevue, Quebec.
He was 93 years old. He is survived by his wife ( Pauline ) of 64 years,
and his 3 sons ( Michael, Mark and Richard ) , 3 granddaughters ( Cynthia, Letitia and Danielle ) and 2 great grandsons ( Teo and Damian )
Howard had a very happy retirement with his wife ( Pauline ) exploring
and travelling in Europe, scuba diving in the Caribbean and golfing in Florida.
He was a retired English teacher from Laval Catholic High School,
an avid reader and writer ( he was published in the Atlantic Monthly )
and was very proud of going to the Stratford Theatre Festival for over 50 years
to attend every play ( and that he could recite every line by memory ) written by William Shakespeare!
Our family is very grateful to all of the dedicated caregivers and nurses
at St. Anne’s Veteran Hospital for providing care, support and compassion
to him.
Visitation will be held at Rideau Funeral Home located at
4275 Sources Blvd in Dollard des Ormeaux, Quebec, H9B 2A6
on Saturday November 24th from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.,
followed by the Service with eulogies at 4:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ste. Anne’s Veteran Hospital.
