<div itemprop="description">At the age of 94, Iola wrapped up a remarkable life in Chateauguay, Quebec. Predeceased by her parents Caroline (Minnie) and William (Bill) her siblings Frank, Stan, Christie, Ray, Kenny, Caroline, Ida, Mildred. <br> <br>Iola grew up on the farm in Bengough, Saskatchewan cherishing strong memories of family harvests, picnics, dancing, cards and church. <br> <br>She trained as a nurse in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan then crisscrossed working through communities in Saskatchewan, BC and finally settling in Montreal. Between nursing positions her adventurous spirit took her travelling extensively around Europe, Iran and Norway. <br> <br>A woman of many talents, Iola expressed her creativity through painting, drawing, sewing, gardening, music, and enthusiastically renovating her home. Not to be idle, she also read widely and took up playing a variety of sports. <br> <br>After retiring in 1997 from the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, she remained active with her friends, the 55 Club, her many activities and the faithful companionship of a beloved dog by her side. <br> <br>She will be remembered as a fiercely independent woman, who lived life with spirit, curiosity and determination. <br></div>
