<div itemprop="description">It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Jalo (John) Honkakangas, at the age of 95, on December 28th, 2025. Beloved husband of Mrs. Soili Honkakangas (Syrjala). Born in Kokkola, Finland. Son of Erkki and Martta. Predeceased by his brother Eero, and sisters Telle and Pepe. <br> <br>He leaves behind his cherished wife Soili of 75 years, his children Chris (Lynn), Helen (Pierre) and Cathy, his grandchildren Nicole (Nick), Erik (Elizabeth), Chantal and Sarah and his great grandson Finn, all of whom brought immense joy to his life. He will also be deeply missed by relatives and dear friends here, as well as in Finland and Sweden, whose lives he touched with warmth, sincerity and humour. <br> <br>He was a man of exceptional kindness, generous of heart, and unwaveringly devoted to those he loved. Never a day passed that he didn’t inquire “How are you? How’s the family? I hope that you are in good health!” <br> <br>We wish to thank Erine, for helping him stay in his home for over 2 years. We thank the staff at Chateau sur le Lac for their care and compassion as he spent his last year with his beautiful Soili. <br> <br>Visitation will take place at a later date</div>
