<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness that we announce that James Andrew (Andy) Gordon passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021 at the age of 84. We lost a father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, colleague, but most of all, we lost a great friend.<br><br>He will forever be remembered by his loving children, Jim, John (Christine) and Cindy (Tom); his grandchildren, Melanie, Carolyn, Griffin, Logan and Shaun as well as his great-grandchildren, Vera and Mathieu Jr. Andy was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Maggie) and his grandchildren Melissa, Owen and Robin.<br><br>Andy was a highly respected, successful, and much liked underwriter during almost 60 years of a career in Marine Insurance. He was a leader in the Canadian market and counted many colleagues, brokers and clients as friends. His knowledge and goodwill were missed after his retirement, but he continues to be a model for his profession. <br><br>His family wishes to thank the amazing and caring staff at Sunrise DDO for their wonderful and attentive care and compassion.<br><br>In memory of Andy’s life, family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, November 14th from 6pm to 9pm at Rideau Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.<br><br>In lieu of flowers, a donation to one of Andy’s favorite charities, the Montreal SPCA, would be appreciated. <br></div>
