<div itemprop="description">There are few words to express the deep pain and sorrow we are feeling by the loss of James Stuart Smith at the age of 84 years old who passed on February 26th of Covid related pneumonia, surrounded by family at Lakeshore General Hospital in Montreal, Quebec. <br> <br>He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife June Smith (Baillargeon) of 61 years whom he met while they both served in the Canadian Air Force Reserve. Stuart also leaves behind his 4 children Kevin (Melanie), Kathy, Kenny (Jocelyne) and Karen (Curtis). He will be missed greatly by his grandchildren Tori, Dylan, Emma, Jason, Jenna, Kendra, Kyle, Bianca and Nicola. Also left behind is his nephew, Barry Smith. <br> <br>Stuart made a career working for Bell Canada and once retired spent his retirement years as a snowbird in Barbados and Florida. <br> <br>He leaves behind many great friends in Canada and across the border especially at Silver Lakes in Florida. <br> <br>He had a passion for sailing and was a longtime member of the Ile Perrot Yacht club where his boats were moored, and where he made many lifetime friends. He was a dedicated volunteer with the Bell Pensioners Group, Lake Saint Louis Power Squadron, and the Ile Perrot Yacht Club. <br> <br>He was predeceased by his parents James Edward Smith and Lillian Mabel Smith. As well as his sister Susan Smith. <br> <br>A funeral service will take place on March 9, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Rideau Funeral Home, located at 4275, Sources Boulevard, Dollard-des-Ormeaux (Quebec) H9B 2A6 followed by a gathering at 3:00 pm. <br> <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the research of Coronavirus or Lymphoma. <br></div>
