<div itemprop="description">James "Jim" Metsos<br><br>It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of James "Jim" Metsos, who passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, at the age of 83, surrounded by the love of his family at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence.<br><br>Born in Montreal, Quebec, on August 16, 1943, Jim lived a life defined by dedication, kindness, friendship, and above all, unconditional love for his family. For more than 62 years, Jim and his beloved wife, Judy Metsos (née Lilley), built a life together founded on love, commitment, and family. Their 59 years of marriage were filled with cherished memories, unwavering support, and a partnership that served as the cornerstone of their family.<br><br>Jim enjoyed a long and rewarding career with CN Rail, where he worked for 37 years. He took great pride in his work and in the friendships he developed throughout his career.<br><br>Outside of work, Jim was an avid golfer. While he appreciated the game itself, it was the camaraderie, laughter, and friendships shared on the golf course that he valued most. Some of his happiest moments were spent enjoying a social round with friends, creating memories that lasted far beyond the final putt. He was especially proud of his years volunteering with the Junior Program at Whitlock Golf and Country Club in Hudson, where he found great fulfillment helping young golfers learn the game and develop confidence both on and off the course.<br><br>Family was always at the center of Jim's life. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Judy; his daughters, Jodie (Billy) and Karen (Bryan); his grandchildren, Robin (Mike) and James (Audrey); his step-grandson, Tyler; and his beloved great-granddaughters, Lila and Everly.<br><br>Jim's love for his family knew no bounds. In retirement, he devoted countless hours to his grandchildren and became a constant and cherished presence in their lives. Whether he was chauffeuring them to sports, activities, and social events, cheering them on from the sidelines, or simply being present in their day-to-day lives, he treasured every moment spent with them. His love, encouragement, and unwavering support helped shape their lives and created memories that they will carry with them forever.<br><br>Jim will be remembered for his quiet strength, generous spirit, loyalty, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He had a remarkable ability to make family and friends feel cared for, supported, and valued. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the friendships he nurtured, and the countless lives he touched throughout his 83 years.<br><br>The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers and staff of the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence for the exceptional care, comfort, and dignity they provided during Jim's final days.<br><br>Though he will be deeply missed, Jim's love, guidance, and presence will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.<br><br>Forever loved.
