It is with broken hearts and immeasurable sorrow that we announce the passing of Jason Barry Pollard-Jolliffe, who was taken from us far too soon in an accident while vacationing in Mexico. His absence leaves a silence that cannot be filled, and a space in our lives that will forever
belong to him.

Jay was, at his core, a lover of life. He carried a deep sense of nostalgia and connection to Montreal, the hometown he cherished so dearly. Its streets, its seasons, and its spirit were woven into who he was. He found peace in nature, comfort beneath the open skies, and meaning in the quiet beauty of the world around him. He lived with an appreciation for life’s simplest and most profound moments.

Music was the language of his soul. It accompanied him through every chapter of his life, none more so than the songs of the Smashing Pumpkins, whose words resonated deeply with his heart. His connection to music mirrored his connection to people. Music was an extension of his spirit and the best way he could communicate his perspective on the world and on love with others.

Above all else, Jay’s greatest pride and joy was his daughter, Tatum Rose. She was his heart, his purpose, and the brightest light of his life. He loved her with a depth beyond measure, and she gave his life its great meaning. Everything he was, and everything he hoped to be, lived in his love for her. She carries forward his spirit, his strength and his endless love.

Jay was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was someone who felt deeply, loved fiercely, and lived authentically. Those who knew him will remember his warmth, his sensitivity, his passion and the way he made the world feel more alive simply by being in it. He leaves behind a family who loved him beyond measure, and who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.

At the centre of that love is his devoted mother Linda, affectionately known as May-May, who loved him first, loved him longest, and never stopped seeing the beauty and goodness in her son. Their bond was deep and unbreakable – rooted in unconditional love, shared memories, and a lifetime of moments that will forever live in her heart.

He also leaves behind his beloved sister, Jess, who shared with him not only a lifetime of memories, but a connection that only siblings can understand. He was her protector, her companion, and her friend. Their laughter, their shared history, and their love for one another will remain part of her always.

His family extends to include his loving father Bruce (Madelyn) and siblings Robbie and Elizabeth, his devoted stepfather Marcel Paul and sister Laurence (Dan) as well as loving brother-in-law Ryan and his precious nephew and niece, Luke and Nora.

Beyond this immediate family he leaves behind countless family members and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.

Though his time with us was far too brief, Jay’s love will never fade. It lives on in the memories we hold, in the music that moves us, in the beauty of nature he cherished, and most of all, in Tatum Rose, who will forever be his living legacy.

He will be deeply missed, endlessly loved and never forgotten.
