It is with heavy yet peaceful hearts that we share news of the loss of our dear Mom, Granny and G.G., Jean Webber.

Jean was fortunate to have shared her life with two loving husbands, Gerry Cockburn and Bob Whitehead, both predeceased. Also predeceased by her treasured sisters Norma Donato (Paul), Gilda Dunn (Dick), and Elaine Seath-Smith (Jim). She will be deeply missed by her children Ron Cockburn (Sandy), Donna MacQuarrie (Doug), and Derek Cockburn (Rita). Proud to be Granny to Ryan (Rebecca), Matthew (Melissa), Tyler and Meghan; Leah (Adi) and Duncan (Gini); Stephanie and Kendra (Gabe). She was thrilled to be G.G. to Flynn, Fox, and Flora; and Maymoonah.

As was her wish, she was able to remain in her home and derived great pleasure from the splendour of her flowers and gardens. Mom was an avid fan and enjoyed watching all sports, especially the Habs, Jays, Alouettes, and Team Gushue. Blessed with the “Webber Luck”, she loved playing cards and particularly enjoyed getting together with her bridge friends. She will be remembered as a very stylish lady, a real character known for her risqué jokes and stories. She dearly loved her extended family and many friends.

Thanks to the caring doctors who Mom often bewildered throughout her life, and also to the paramedics, and medical team at the Verdun Hospital who provided exceptional care in her final few days.

An informal gathering of remembrance for family and friends will be held at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd., D.D.O., Que. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 4-6 pm.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the health charity of your choice.
