<div itemprop="description">It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my mother Jeannette Downey (nee Smith) on February 18, 2025 at the age of 88. She died peacefiully surrounded by family. <br> <br>Jeannette was born on August 6, 1936 In Georgetown, Guyana. She immigrated to Canada in 1956 where she met her husband George Downey, who she was married to for 51 years until his passing. <br> <br>Jeannette had a kind heart and would always give gifts to her family and friends. Jeannette most of all loved her animals, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. <br> <br>Jeannette will be missed by her daughter Annette (John), her grandchildren Tim (Krissy), Katelyn (Corey), her great grandchildren Skylar and Kenzie and her remaining sisters Juanita (Ottawa) and Elizabeth (England). <br> <br>She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews. <br> <br>A huge thank you to all the staff at residence Denis-Benjamin Viger where she spent the last the last 8 months. <br> <br>The family will receive condolences at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, on Thursday March 6th 2025 as of 11 am followed by a celebration of her life at 1pm. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers please make a donation in her name to either the Breast Cancer Society or the SPCA. <br> <br></div>
