<div itemprop="description">It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Moorhouse (Knowles). Joan passed away peacefully at the age of 85 after a long illness of 17 years. <br> <br>She was born in England, was an accomplished pianist, a high school teacher and devoted mother. She was a very social person, a great cook and had many friends in the community. Joan immigrated to Canada in 1962 after meeting her husband Geoffrey Knowles and went on to raise three boys in the Westpark area of Dollard-des-Ormeaux. Joan participated in volunteer work and was active in the community; most notably with "Meals On Wheels" and the DDO Arts & Crafts Fair. Her passion for music is clear with the profound effect it had on her family. <br> <br>Joan is survived by two children (Jeff Knowles, Steve Knowles), three grandchildren (Ryan, Colin, Dylan). She is preceded in death by one child (Glenn) and ex-husband (Geoffrey). Joan will be fondly remembered by her daughter-in-law Andrea Bichara, as well as Lorraine and Lynn who helped so much with her care while living with her son Jeff. A special thank you to the staff at the CHSLD Bayview who were wonderful and improved Joan's quality of life. <br> <br>A Memorial will be held Sunday March 26th, 2023 from 1pm to 3pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Canadian Mental Health Association.</div>
