<div itemprop="description">It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joan Marlene Bhagwandass (née Thomas‑Woodroffe), who left us peacefully on 30 January 2026. Born on 7 March 1948, Joan was a beloved spouse, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, sister‑in‑law, colleague, and friend. <br> <br>She will be deeply missed by her devoted children, Simi Tara Bhagwandass and India Narika Bhagwandass, her loving spouse Vishnu Bhagwandass, her cherished grandson Isaiah Charles Bhagwandass, and her surviving brother Errol Woodroffe. Joan’s vibrant presence will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends across the world. <br> <br>Stylish, spirited, and effortlessly cool, Joan lived life with a flair that was entirely her own. She traveled widely, embraced adventure, and carried herself with a strength and independence that is inspiring. She was the keeper of confidences, the quiet supporter of her children’s many creative pursuits, and the mastermind behind countless magical moments. <br> <br>A legendary host - especially at Christmas - Joan had a gift for bringing people together. Whether in Barbados, England, or Canada, she built community wherever she went. <br> <br>Joan’s generosity, creativity, and unmistakable sense of style will forever be remembered. Her legacy lives on in the memories she crafted, the joy she sparked, and the love she gave so freely. <br> <br>A celebration of her life will take place at Rideau Funeral Home, located at 4275 Sources Boulevard, Dollard-des-Ormeaux (Quebec) H9B 2A6, on 16 February 2026 at 11:00am, where seating begins at 10:30am. Visitation is held on 15 February 2026 from 2:00pm – 6:00pm. <br> <br></div>
