It is with deep sadness and a broken heart that I announce the passing of my beloved Ioannis (John), on Monday, January 4th, 2021, in Kirkland, at the age of 74.

He was the loving husband of Lynn Emmanuelidis, with whom he shared 42 wonderful and memorable years.

He will be greatly missed by his uncle Thanos and aunt Veta, Michael and Irini; his cousins Ioannis T. Emmanuelidis, Akis, Anita and family, Joseph and family, Vassilis, Rita and Katerina, George and Yota. He also leaves behind family and friends, here and in Greece.

John was a passionate reader, always wanting to learn and discover more. His curiosity and thirst for knowledge brought him in several parts of the world, but his heart always lead him back to his beloved Greece. John was a very honest, reliable, loving and a deeply caring husband and friend. He was a great soccer fan and enjoyed sharing the results and the performances of certain players with his close friends.

With warmest thanks, gratitude and love to our family and friends in Greece for their encouragement and support. Every phone call you made to Ioannis & I through his long battle with his illness was deeply appreciated.

I would like to extend my thanks to all our close friends Fernanda and Joe, Eleni and Richard, Eva and Claude, Louise and Wilhelm, Despina and Jack, Zeyneb, Deda, Jean Meletios, Krista and Jurgen, Anca and Vlad, Amy and Rafael, Frederika and Guenter, my childhood friend Kathy Beauchamps, and all our neighbors for their constant support and love.

My sincere thanks to all our European friends from England, Austria, Germany and France, who have sent get well wishes, called numerous times to support and give us words of encouragement until we met again on our favorite island of Greece.

Special thoughts and gratitude goes to Georgia Koutsoulieri who has been an exceptional friend, who has supported us both through so many difficulties all along this very long illness, and continues to bring me hope that things will get better. My thanks to Sofia, who has always been kind & thoughtful, and to Jenny and Stellios, who were always there with a helping hand and open hearts.

I would also like to thank all the NOVA nurses for their exceptional care and compassion, as well as CLSC nurses and personnel.
