David Glynne Jones born in Liverpool, England passed away peacefully in Ottawa, ON on September 3, 2023, at the age of 73.

Beloved husband of the late Barbara Ann Evestaff. Loving father and father-in-law of Tammy and Kevin (Joyce) and Jennifer and Daniel (Sugar). Cherished and proud pops of Nathan and Jordan. Son of the late Stephen Jones and the late Mary Smith. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Stephen and Dilys; Carol; Trevor and Sylvie; and brother-in-law of Frank (Evestaff) and Deb (Khoury); Susan (Evestaff) and Steven (Hughes); the late Debbie and Gilbert (Borgogno); Joanne and Adam (Salim) as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends who were like family to him.

David was a die-hard Liverpool FC fan who will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. David “Super Dave” was a proud Canadian since 1977 but his heart and love always remained in England. A day never went by without him wearing red or a Liverpool jersey and will always be remembered for the many hats he owned and a ginger ale in his hand. His passion was for photography, and he proudly served as a volunteer fireman for 25 years in D.D.O. David will be remembered for his unique sense of humor and his genuine interest in knowing where people were from. He was the person who spoke to anyone and everyone, bringing comfort and laughter to those around him. His strength through many years of struggle was inspirational. His charisma and sincerity will be greatly missed, but he finally joins his beloved “bride” whom he missed greatly. “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”

Visitation is open to family and friends on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 12-1pm at the Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd, DDO, followed by a service at 1:00pm.
