<div itemprop="description">It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Joseph ("Joe") Dawson, who passed away peacefully at home on July 13, 2026, at the age of 90.<br><br>Over the years, Joe dedicated countless hours to volunteering in his community. He gave generously of his time at Way Off Broadway, St. Thomas à Becket Parish, the North Shore Broncos, the Montreal Junior Concordes, and, most recently, the St. Patrick's Basilica Soup Kitchen. He was truly happiest when helping others.<br><br>Joe is survived by his daughters, Karen (Cary Grant) and Lynn (Rob Stanley), and his stepsons, Darrin Sutton (Bella) and Glen Sutton. He was the proud grandfather of Matthew (Hannah), Tara (Damian), Kaitlin (Trevor), Tyler, Derek, Tara (Brody), Jenna, Rebecca (Graeme), and Ashley. He was also a delighted great-grandfather to Lillian, Daisy, Leo, Lucy, and Claire.<br><br>He was predeceased by his beloved first wife, Joan (1960–1987), his cherished third wife, Joyce (1994–2022), and his grandson, Andrew. He is survived by Andrew's wife, Maddi.<br><br>In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.<br><br>Visitation will be held at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Blvd. des Sources on Tuesday July 21 from 2-4pm and from 7-9pm.<br><br>A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas à Becket Parish, 4320 St Anne St on Wednesday July 22 at 11am.</div>
