<div itemprop="description">It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph McCarthy, on Wednesday, June 8th 2022, in Montreal, at the age of 70.<br><br>He is now reunited with his beloved wife of 41 years, the late Cynthia Damato McCarthy. He will be dearly missed by his children Allyson (Assad), Brandon (Melissa), and his grandchildren Thomas, Arya, Charlotte and Madelyn. He also leaves behind his siblings Michael, Susan (Brian), David and Kathleen, his brother-in-law Donald, his many nephews and nieces as well as other family and friends. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents John Gerald and Norah, his siblings John Gerald and Norah as well as his sister-in-law Linda and brother-in-law Jimmy. <br><br>After completing a bachelor’s degree at Loyola College, Joseph had a long successful career at Bell and IBM. Always eager to learn, he went on to complete an Executive MBA at McGill University at the age of fifty. Joseph was a family man and was most often found attending or coaching one of his children or grandchildren’s sporting events. He also loved his cottage in Harrington Quebec where he enjoyed running, biking and swimming in the lake. <br><br>Special thank you to all the staff at St-Mary’s hospital for their incredible care and support. <br>The family will receive condolences on Saturday, June 18th 2022 from 5pm to 7pm, and on Sunday, June 19th 2022 starting 1:30pm at Rideau Funeral Home (4275, Sources blvd, D.D.O., QC – 514-685-3344), followed by a celebration of Joseph’s life at 2:30pm.<br><br>In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to St-Mary’s Hospital.
