It is with deep sadness we announce that on (Thurs) July 25, 2019 in Ottawa, Ontario, Justin Jean-Baptiste was suddenly and unexpectedly taken away from his family. Justin was born on November 12, 1983 at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, QC. He was the son of Valerie Hernandez and Cesaire Jean-Baptiste (deceased). Brother of Sheldon Jean-Baptiste and Luc Jean-Baptiste. Father to Mikael Caron Jean-Baptiste.

Justin moved to the West Island when he was four years old. He attended Thorndale Elementary School where he was like the gentle giant, extremely tall for his age but the most mild mannered, quiet and displayed a genuine kindness to all his friends.

Justin's dad passed away when he was nine years old, however he managed to have a regular suburban childhood where he was involved in sports (Soccer and Basketball). He was introduced to swimming lessons, piano lessons, dance training and became a boy scout. Early in these endeavors, he decided that he preferred to play sports. He attended Loyola High School where he played on both the Soccer and Basketball Teams, winning multiple awards.

After his High School Graduation, he attended CEGEP, worked at the Jewish General Hospital, then went on to Concordia University and completed a Bachelor's degree in Human Relations.

In 2016 he began working in his field as a Child and Youth Counselor, in Orleans, Ontario. He loved his career and cared about the Youths that were in his charge. Justin naturally had a deep concern for people in the purest way. He had an ever present warmth and smile with depth and intelligence behind it. When he called you a friend, he would literally take the shirt off his back if his friend needed it. He wished the best for his friends without expecting anything in return.

Justin's family meant the world to him. He was so proud of his younger brother Sheldon. He was over the moon about his one year old son. He was thrilled and proud to be a father and never shied away from his responsibilities. He knew he had good family support in all of his endeavors and constantly showed his appreciation. He was the first one to attribute his success to the family encouragement he received (especially from his Mom) and his immediate and extended family.

Justin leaves to mourn: his Mother-Valerie Hernandez; his brother Sheldon Jean-Baptiste; his Grandmother (Lucille Hernandez); his half-brother Luc Jean-Baptiste; his uncles and aunts; Mervyn Hernandez (Rose Zulu Hernandez); Ashton Hernandez (Geraldine Hernandez); Merlin Hernandez; Germain Jean-Baptiste; Etienne Jean-Baptiste; Marie-Marthe Jean-Baptiste, Vitale Jean-Baptiste; Richard Clarke (Cheryl Clarke); Harold Douglas (Jennifer Douglas); Kelvin Newton (Claire Newton); multiple cousins and friends (Asher, Isaac, Joshua, Kianda, Steve, Andy, Melissa, Afia, Wayne, Kevin, Devon, Chris, Jamal, Jason, Randy, Randall, Adam, Brenda and Rosamund Daley, and many more).

WELL DONE JUSTIN ! MAY YOU REST IN PARADISE !

BRAVO JUSTIN ! QUE TON ÀME REPOSE AU PARADIS !
