Kathleen Barbara Hackett (nee Hope)
April 28, 2020
Kathleen Barbara Hackett
After living a wonderful life, the last 41 years ofwhich were with her loving
husband, Kathleen, on April 28, 2020 calmly left us to join her deceased parents,
Arthur and Ena. Devoted to her family she will live on in the loving memories of
her husband Fitzroy (Larry), her three children, Patricia, Charmaine and Roger and
her siblings, Tusha, Norma, Mary, Monica, Gloria, Charles, Sylma, and lngrid. Also
Kathleen is survived by 8 grandchildren, 11 great grand children and several
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kathleen was born in Trinidad and Tobago on March 3, 1942 and immigrated to
Canada in 1968. She entered university with the intention of studying nursing but
soon thereafter switched to Chemistry. She will go on to study undergraduate
Chemistry at Long Island University and graduate Chemistry at Concordia
University. Nursing however was one of her characteristics and so she never
missed an opportunity to help others in distress.
When Kathleen was not at work, she will pass her time reading, sewing, painting
and with handicraft projects. She was thoughtful and quiet and always found a
way to quietly impress those around. She loved to travel and to be with family.
She loved nature and music and would travel back to Trinidad regularly and enjoy
the tropical outdoors and beaches.
Memories of Kathleen are blessings to all those who knew her.
