It is with immense sadness that we announce the sudden but peacefully passing of Katrina McKenzie at the Royal Victoria Hospital, on July 16th, 2023.

She leaves behind her beloved husband Tony Di Vittori, her loving children Amanda (Jeremie), Brenden (Marianne), her cherished and loving grand-children Beatrice, William, Owen, and Thomas, her mother Barbara, her sister Marie, nephew Kevin, grand-niece Karis, niece Cayla, her sister-in-law Mara (Luke), and nephew Luca.

Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, February 20th, 1961. Katrina was very proud of her Scottish heritage and embraced Tony’s Italian family’s culture with the same zeal and pride. Katrina was a lifelong learner, had a keen intelligent mind and fantastic sense of humour. Katrina never backed down from a challenge and loved good hearted competition. She loved to travel, enjoyed music (especially singing and dancing while doing chores), the arts, sciences, animals, insects, nature, and technology. She enjoyed imparting her knowledge to her family and friends (especially the grandchildren) and enjoyed even more learning from all those around her. Katrina loved camping and the outdoors, sewing, baking and preparing meals for family and friends. She took great joy in crocheting stuffed toys and clothes for all her grandchildren. She was a fun-loving, vibrant, joyful, dedicated wife, caring mum, doting Nan, and a loyal friend to all who knew her. The entire family will cherish all the wonderful memories we have of her, which will last us a lifetime. Her laughter, wit, and loving ways will be dearly missed, and we will be reminded of Katrina and her love in everything we see around us. We love you Mum, may you rest in peace.

A private memorial has taken place.

In honour of her memory, a donation may be made to the Cedars Cancer Centre, Royal Victoria Hospital.
