Passed away peacefully on March 21st, 2022, in his 91st year. Predeceased by his wife Corinne (née Cram), proud father of sons David (Leslie), Stephen (Kristine) and Peter (Lynn), and cherished grandfather to Ian, Alex, Aija, Kristaps, and Laris. Keith also leaves behind his brother Jack (Arlene), sister Diane, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in Winnipeg, MB, Keith grew up in Prince Albert, SK, and studied chemical engineering at the University of Saskatchewan where his fondest memory was of meeting Corinne. He then spent two years in England as an Athlone Fellow, before furthering his studies at MIT in Boston, earning his Doctorate of Science.

Keith and Corinne lived and raised their family in Boston, Saskatoon, and Trail, BC, before finally settling in Pointe Claire, QC, where Keith worked for many years at the Pulp and Paper Research Institute of Canada as Director of Economics and Planning. Keith was elected as a Fellow of the Chemical Institute of Canada in 1987 and served as President of the CSChE from 1987 to 1988.

Keith loved reading, nature, history, and music. The house would ring as he belted out his favorite parlour songs and operetta arias, before his struggles with hearing loss became an impediment. He enjoyed camping, skiing, canoeing, sailing, and exploring historical sites across Canada with his family. Because of his love for the outdoors he devoted years to planning and advising on the Terra-Cotta committee to develop the protected wilderness refuge in Pointe Claire. Keith was a kind, thoughtful man who loved a good pun or limerick.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Sunrise of Beaconsfield retirement community for their great compassion and care for Keith in his final years.

A celebration of life will be arranged in Keith’s honour at a later date.
