Reverend Knut Kollmar of Montreal, Quebec passed into the presence of his Saviour and Lord, November 4th, 2023 at 11:58pm.

He leaves behind to celebrate his life and to mourn his passing: his wife of 53 years, Ingrid Sante; their children, Oliver(Jennifer), Melanie, Tabitha (Jeffrey), Marguerite (Andrew), James(Nora), Stephanie and Deborah.

Also left missing their Opa are 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Knut was predeceased by his parents, Marguerite and Erwin Kollmar of Köln, Germany, and his grandson Joseph, and great grandsons Gilead and Zayne.

He also leaves behind his sister Iris (Lionel) of Windsor, Ontario and his brother Juergen (Dagmar) of Köln, Germany.

Knut was born in 1946 in Köln, West Germany.

He spent much of his early childhood with his maternal grandmother in Porz-Grengal. His three uncles became big brothers to him until he was reunited with his parents and his sister and brother when he was 8 years old. In 1958 the family immigrated to Montreal, Quebec.

Knut finished school there, and at 18 began as an office clerk for Kuhn & Nagel, where he worked until he could follow his wish to become a pastor.

He had his theology training in Erzhausen, Germany, at the conclusion of which he returned to Canada to begin as an assistant pastor in Toronto, Ont. Thus began 53 years of ministry that spanned the country from Ontario to British Columbia, and finally the last two decades in Quebec, serving the church he grew up in.

He married Ingrid in 1970, and their children joined them as they journeyed through the towns and cities in Western Canada, ministering first to German speaking Congregations, then to English churches.

Knut was a talented musician and singer whose voice and talent were enjoyed by many.
His travels with Jubilance Singers and Orchestra through various European countries have remained some of his most treasured experiences. He loved conducting the German Heritage Choir in Melville, Saskatchewan for five years, and enjoyed the experience of conducting a Hutterite Youth Choir from a colony in Manitoba. Once back in Montreal he joined the Steward Hall Singers, and enjoyed the challenge of classical singing.

He will be greatly missed.

Blessed be his memory.

Link for lifestream: https://fweb.tv/111980
