It is with profound sadness that the family of Liette Walker (née Deschênes), loving wife of John Walker for 59 years, announce her sudden passing shortly after midnight on July 15, 2021, at the age of 82.

She will be forever lovingly remembered by John and her children Lorina (Patrick), Carolyn (Dave), Stephanie (Jay) and David (Carly); by her sisters Doris and Arlene, her beloved grandchildren, Jessica, Andie, Kevin, Johnathon, Brendan, Nolan, Juliana, Alex and Eric; as well as her extended family in Québec (Louise and family) as well as family in Ontario and New Brunswick. She will also be dearly missed by her many friends and dear neighbors between Quebec, the lake and her home in the West Island. She had a special place for everyone in her heart, including her dogs. She left this world close to her favorite “piece of Paradise”, Lake St. Joseph.
A true people lover, Liette was involved in so many activities over the years, starting as a Church Warden at St. Luke’s, and the schools’ Parents Committees; anywhere where she could spread her good cheer and determination to help. She bowled for years and played volleyball. She happily sang in the Stewart Hall Singers and Voices for Hope choirs. She was a real leader, always ready to take charge and get the job done. But without doubt, what she adored the most was to be amongst family, with her loving husband, her kids and her many grandchildren, sharing good times, love and laughter.

The viewing will be at Rideau Funeral Home (4239 Boul. des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux) on Thursday, July 29th at 2:00 pm to 5:00pm & 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Friends and family may come to pay their last respects.
The service will be held at St. Luke’s church (106a Avenue Anselme-Lavigne, Dollard-des-Ormeaux) on Friday, July 30th at 11:00am. For family and friends outside of Montreal, the visitation will be broadcasted via livestream at the following link: https://youtu.be/2OaH0u4aS5U

On Saturday, August 7th at 11:30 am we will have a small ceremony at Liette’s burial, at St. Patrick’s Cemetery (1601 Chemin Saint-Louis, Quebec City). Family and friends from Quebec City and Lake St. Joseph are welcome to join us in this service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Liette’s name may be made to the SPCA or to the Alzheimer’s Society.
