<div itemprop="description">It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother Lucille Hernandez (nee MURRIEN). Lucille passed away peacefully at the Jewish General Hospital, Montreal Quebec at 5:30am on Sunday, 3rd October 2021 at the age of 96. <br> <br>Lucille was born on June 08, 1925 in the beautiful island of Trinidad and Tobago. She migrated to Montreal in 1957 under the 'domestic scheme', which was the avenue some early immigrants utilized to come to Canada to build a better future for their family. Five years later her children joined her in Canada. <br> <br>In 1963 Lucille was hired by Air Canada working in Food and Nutrition at the Company's. Employee Cafeteria. She worked for over 30 years until her retirement at the age of 65. While working for Air Canada Lucille had an exemplary work history. She worked without interruption or time off for the entire period she was employed. She took her vacations, statutory holidays, weekends and that was it. Everyone loved "Lucy" as she was affectionately called by all her co-workers and friends. Her kindness, warmth and gentle nature had everyone gravitating towards her. For her retirement she lived with her sisters for half the year in Florida. It was a most spectacular time of her life. <br> <br>In the Community everybody knew her home to be the place where you are guaranteed to always get a home cooked meal. She was a beautiful and dignified lady and will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her. <br> <br>Lucille leaves to mourn her children - Valerie, Mervyn (Rose), Ashton (Geraldine) and Merlin, her grandchildren - Sheldon (Melissa), Isaac and Asher and her great grandchild - Mikael (Madeleine). She will also be greatly missed by her last surviving sister Phyllis Archbald) and her Second Family Rona Karls and her 4 Boys. She will be remembered fondly by all her Nieces and Nephews, close friends and those she adopted as her sons: Johnnie Sandford, Richard Jeffers, Rudolph Williams, Kurt Jack, Garfield Hogan, Stephen Forde, Kim Abellard and Wayne Morgan, just to name a few. <br> <br>She will join her first grandchild-Justin(deceased-2019) as well as her five sisters: Rita, Elaine, Inez, Edna, Dolly and two brothers: Neville and Boysin. <br>MAY SHE REST IN ETERNAL PEACE !!!!! <br> <br>The ceremony can be viewed online at 11 a.m. using the following link: https://funeraweb.tv/en/diffusions/38363 <br>followed by the burial at 12:30 p.m.: https://funeraweb.tv/en/diffusions/38364 <br> <br></div>
