It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Lyse Leroux, on Friday, March 25th 2022, in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, at the age of 83.

She is now reunited with her beloved husband Raymond (Roman) Moskaluk, who passed away on November 19th, 2021. She will be dearly missed by her three children Anna-Marie, married to Eugene Hsieh, Karl, married to Rodrigo De Assis, and Stefan. Cherished Nana to Mianna and Kai, whom she loved with all her heart. She also leaves behind her brothers and sisters Pierre, married to Lisette, Renee, married to Feliks, and Michel married to Tina, her sister-in-law Sylvia, her nieces, Tina, Lise, Marjorie, Danielle, Carolyn and Nicole, and her nephews Jan and Peter, as well as many other family and friends in different parts of Québec, Ontario and the United States.

Lyse was born in the Chinese zodiac year of the Tiger, and that she was. Born in Jabalpur, India to a French Canadian father serving as a doctor in the British Army during WWII and an Italian mother she and her brothers and sister lived through many experiences, both positive and negative, throughout their posting there. As young children they were sent to boarding school in Canada and had to be apart from each other until the summer, when they would reunite. Throughout those years, they developed an unwavering love for India and its people. Later in life, after her three children were older, Lyse would travel back to India alone almost yearly to visit her beloved homeland and even used her training as a nurse to work with Mother Teresa. She introduced the world to her three young children, and took pride in travelling to different countries with each of them over the years.

After graduating, she worked as a nurse for many years but stopped to raise her three children. We were so blessed and fortunate to have her as our mum for so many years. She was always there for us not only as children, but as adults as well. Even when she suffered through many medical issues throughout her later years, she used her immense inner strength and determination to put us first. She was there when both her grandchildren were born and retelling her first meeting with her granddaughter, she would say their eyes locked and they were soul mates from that day on. When her grandson was born two years later, she sat all night in a hospital room, holding and rocking him, allowing her daughter to sleep.

True to her Chinese zodiac sign, Lyse was beautiful inside and out, nurturing, loved a challenge, and, was fearless and brave and had a deep belief in God and Saints Joseph and Christopher.

Special thanks to all the staff at Chateau Dollard who made her feel like family.

The family will receive condolences on Monday, April 4th, from 12:30pm to 1:30pm, followed by a private moment for immediate family members.

Namaste

Public visitation will be livestreamed for family members and friends who are unable to attend, and can be viewed using the following link: https://funeraweb.tv/diffusions/50574
