Madonna Anne Byrne(Hearn), 78 originally from Conche, Newfoundland residing in pierrefonds, Quebec For the last 40 years passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, surrounded by family.
Born with an extraordinary spirit of generosity and kindness, Madonna dedicated her life to helping others and inspiring her students for more than 40 years. She shared her passion for learning as a teacher of English math and history at St. Thomas, high school, and later at Kuper Academy, touching the lies of countless young minds with patients, wisdom, and humour.
Pre-deceased in 2022 by Edward Hearn, her beloved husband of nearly 50 years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, adventure and family. She was the proud mother of two daughters, Andrea and Vanessa(Nic) And adored grandmother of Julian Aiken and step grandmother to Carl and Lucas (Munoz).
The second of 16 children, Madonna cherished her large family dearly. She has survived by 12 of her siblings, along with many nieces and nephews and extended family all of whom she loved dearly.
Madonna‘s Joy was found in the simple and beautiful things like music, teaching, crosswords, and above all singing. Her voice filled every room she entered, just as her kindness filled every heart she met. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and her unwavering desire to bring out the best in everyone. Her remarkable life and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved her.
The family will receive condolences on Monday, December 22, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Rideau Funeral Home. (4239 Sources Blvd., Dollars-des-Ormeaux, Quebec H9B 2A6) A celebration of life will follow at the funeral home the same day at 2:00 p.m.
