<div itemprop="description">Dear friends, <br> <br>It is with great sadness and regret that we announce that Maria Luisa Santoro (Torchetti). passed away peacefully, Saturday, May 11th 2024. <br> <br>Born on the 22nd of April, 1944 in Capestrano, Italia, Maria Luisa came to Canada at the age of 9, where she built a loving and productive life. A proud graduate of McGill University in French and Spanish literature, she had a successful career with the Hudson’s Bay Company in women’s fashion, until the advent of Paolo. <br> <br>As a kind and loving soul Maria Luisa will be remembered for her style, class and elegance. <br> <br>Maria Luisa is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Joseph (Giuseppe), her sister Gabriella, her son Paolo and her daughter-in-law Ann. <br> <br>Equally, Maria Luisa was particularly close with extended family, Marcelo and Franca Silveri, their daughters Betty and Suzie, and their children and partners. <br> <br>Viewing and a short funeral service will take place this coming Sunday, the 19th of May 2024, in Montreal, with visitation from 12:30 to 4:30 PM at Rideau Funeral Home. <br> <br>The family requests that flowers are not sent.
