Marjorie Benjamin
July 18, 1935 - July 15, 2023
We are heartbroken to share the news of Marjorie Benjamin's departure from this world, on July 15, 2023 in Montreal, just three days before her 88th birthday.
She was a remarkable teacher, a loyal friend, and a cherished member of the Grenadian community of Montreal. She dedicated her life to education and service, teaching at St. Joseph’s convent Grenada, St. Thomas high school Pierrefonds, and the West Island Career Center. She was also an active member of W.I.B.C.A, the Catholic’s women’s league, and the Grenada Scholarship Foundation.
She touched countless lives with her wisdom, kindness and generosity, and we are forever grateful for her presence in our lives.
She was the loving sister of Cicely (Gerard), Verna, Joan (Chris), Carl and Paula (the late Keith). She also leaves behind a legacy of love and joy in her nieces and nephews, Annette, Abiola, Jennifer (Terry), Dara, Yola (Dwane), Kandia (Issa), Kharyl (Kim), Tanya and Kevin (Nena), and their children Aisha, Isaac, Kiano, Sanaya, Ayanna, Ella, Benjamin, Mahalia and Jaden.
She will always be in our hearts and memories.
A funeral service will be held at St. Luke’s Catholic church in DDO at 12:30 PM on July 29th, followed by a burial at Rideau Gardens. Visitation will be held on July 28th from 6:00- 9:00 PM.
