Mary Theresa Murphy
Dec 8 1928 - May 27th 2016
Mary Theresa Murphy died on May 27 at the Denis-Benjamin-Viger Residence in L’Ile Bizard, Quebec after a lengthy illness with complications related to diabetes. She was 87 years old.
Mary is survived by three daughters: Andrea, Nancy and Jennifer and by five grandchildren: Jason, Trevor, Emily, Adam, Colin, and by one great-grandchild, Zachary.
Mary was an out-going, loving woman who enjoyed singing, dancing, cooking and baking for friends and family. Her unbeatable lemon meringue pie and roasted chicken dinners were enjoyed by many. At Christmas-time butter tarts, shortbread cookies, and hermits were guaranteed to all who dropped by. She had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh. Many of us were fortunate to hear her sing “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling” or one of her favorite Patsy Cline songs. Her favourite perfume was Nina Ricci, and to this day all of her many pieces of jewelry carry its scent. Known for her hugs and kisses, she lit up any room she was in. She was a generous, caring, and brave woman, even in her last difficult days. She was deeply loved, and will be dearly missed.
