Michel Loutfi El Khouri, 84, of St. Lazare, QC, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 23, 2017. Michel was born in Hakour, Lebanon to Loutfi and Mahessen El Khouri.

His sense of adventure led him to Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Nova Scotia, Florida and Quebec. As a successful entrepreneur, Michel established several businesses; most notably, he was the long-time owner of Bailey's furniture in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. Michel was the quintessential family man. He was an amazing husband, an incredible father, a truly exceptional jiddo, a tender brother, a favourite uncle, and a kind and loving father-in-law. In his life he embodied integrity, charisma, and honour. He was a true and honest friend, an unforgettable acquaintance, a great boss and so much more. He loved meeting new people, sharing life stories and experiences, and a good game of cards. His weekends were often spent around the dinner table, laughing, reminiscing, mentoring and inspiring, all while enjoying good food with his family. Through his passing, Michel leaves behind a legacy that will live on through his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Neify Cury El Khouri, his three daughters, Nedia (Robert Cloney), Chedia (Richard Provost) and Siria (Mark Thier), and two sons, Adonis (Simone Cesconeto) and Loutfi. He will be greatly missed by his many grandchildren, Nikola Provost, Natasha Couvrette, Kahlil and Ayisha Thier, Michael and Amanda Cloney, Nina, Maria and Ana El Khouri. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Neify El Khouri, his sister Marguerite Fadel (Bady), and his brother Jehad El Khoury (Rose). He leaves behind several siblings, including Mona Cury (Baige), Nedia JeBailey (John), Dahlel Bitar (Albert), Jana JeBailey (Joseph), and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 12, from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Rideau Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd, Dollard-Des Ormeaux, QC. Funeral Services will take place on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Saint Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church, 80 Rue de Castelnau E, Montréal, Qc.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the CHEO hospital in Ottawa, in memory of his recently deceased granddaughter Neify Karina El Khouri.
