<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of NORMA JOYCE VARY on Saturday, January 27, 2024, in Montreal, Quebec, at the age of 92. <br> <br>She was preceded by the death of her parents Myra and Rodolphe Vary and her sister Fernande Sauvé. She will be missed by her daughter Cristina Goodman and her son Ricardo Obelmejias. Her grandchildren Michael, Stephanie, Joyce Celeste and Emily. Her niece and nephew Diane Matus, Yasmin Grothe and Grant Russell. Her sister in law Rebecca Obelmejias. <br> <br>Norma had a passion for travelling all over the world. She was an airline stewardess for AVENSA, AEROPOSTAL, and VIASA (all Venezuelan airlines) as she lived there for many years. She also worked for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines in the office for 32 years. She worked as a passenger service agent, ticket office, and then at the reservations. She spoke 3 languages: English, French and Spanish. She loved her German Shepherd dogs and had 4 that she was proud of: Maxi, Koti, Benji and Nikita. She had a passion for classical music and would play on her baby grand piano for hours. She loved to paint in oils. Truly a culture refined and compassionate woman who touched many in her life. <br> <br>We would like to say BIG thank you to the nurses, doctors and aides who helped my mom in her last years at the Pavillon Camille-Lefebvre in Lachine for their wonderful and loving care they provided for her. <br> <br>Family will receive condolences on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 9:00am at Rideau Funeral Home.</div>
