<div itemprop="description">It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Pasqualina Rinaldi at the age of 87 on June 1st, 2026. Because she was born on Easter Sunday, her mother changed her given name from Lina to Pasqua-Lina so that she would receive a blessing from God during her lifetime. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at home surrounded by loved ones and with a smile on her face. This was indeed a real blessing. <br> <br>A loving wife and mother who devoted her entire life to her husband Luigi and to her 4 children Pietro (Naomi), Carmine (Valerie), late Michelino (Linda), and Silvio. Her marriage reached the 65th – Blue Sapphire level which is an amazing milestone. Her 7 grandchildren Malina (Nicholas), Nicholas, Kaitlin (Tiago), Dario, Matthew, Holden, and Jaxon loved her dearly and cherished every memorable moment they spent with her. <br> <br>She was raised in a small rural town in the province of Avellino located in southern Italy. In 1967 at 28 years old, she immigrated with her three young children (6, 4, and 2) to Montreal to join her husband Luigi who had already immigrated the year before. At 37 years old she was hoping to give birth to a baby girl but it also turned out to be a boy. She spent her life raising 4 boys while working as a seamstress in Montreal's textile factories. <br> <br>She was a great cook capable of preparing everything (pastries, pasta, tomato sauce, cheese, cured meats, etc.) from scratch using primary ingredients and home made recipes passed on to her from her mother. Everyone loved the food she prepared because it was prepared with passion and love. Because she had such an exceptional level of hand-to-eye coordination, she was capable of creating amazing tapestries with only a crochet. She was a natural born teacher and taught her friends how to crochet. Since she grew up surrounded by nature, she loved all plants and animals. She always had beautiful plants in our home and took meticulous care of them. She had a special affection for birds and this is why her pet was a beautiful white and red cockatiel. In her name and honor, we will pass on everything we learned from her to the grandchildren.
