<div itemprop="description">Patricia “Patty” Smeaton <br>October 4, 1945 – May 4, 2017 <br> <br>Passed away at Lakeshore General Hospital May 4th 2017, surrounded by her two sons Andrew and Gary, after a long and courageous battle with emphysema. <br> <br>She was born in Montreal to John Smeaton and Dorothy Higgerty, both of whom have pre-deceased her. She is survived by her husband Patrick O’halloran and beloved pet Nikki; children Andrew O’Halloran and Gary (Trista) O’Halloran ; grandson Preston O’Halloran; sister Brenda (Al) Putre; brothers Allen Smeaton and Peter (Maureen) Smeaton; nephew Brian Putre; nieces Allison Smeaton and Jessica (Stephen) Stock; great-niece Isabelle Stock; and, great-nephew Michael Stock. <br> <br>Patty was an active community volunteer throughout her life, including with Scouts Canada and Montreal West Island hockey associations. In recognition of her many years of dedicated volunteer service, Patty was inducted into the Hockey Lac St-Louis Hall of Fame (of which only a handful have had the honor). <br> <br>She will be missed by friends and relatives, with many fond memories at the family cottage on Bird Lake in the Laurentians, her favourite place in the world either alone or with family, reading, cooking, and feeding the left-overs to the raccoons. <br> <br>Special thanks to all the staff from Mount Sinai Hospital Center Montreal and the Lakeshore General Hospital for their excellent care and support. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, please donations in her memory may be made to the Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation or The Canadian Lung Association. <br> <br>***Please note that you may click on the "Make a Donation" for the direct links to these mentioned organizations.***</div>
