<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and friend, Patrick James Sloan. Born in Belfast, Ireland, Patrick passed away at Lakeshore General Hospital, in Pointe-Claire, at the age of 75 years old, surrounded by his family. <br> <br>Beloved father to Tara (Eric), Angela (Karl), grandfather to Isabella, Rylan, Ava, Caelan, Rex and Sloan. Predeceased by his parents Margaret and Charles, brother Gordon (Catherine) and sister Susan (Jacques). He leaves to mourn his sister Lynda, brother Bernard (Dinah), former spouse and beloved friend Elizabeth. He will also be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends near and far. <br> <br>Patrick was a selfless, hard working, genuine man, who was loved by all who met him; a true man of distinction. Family meant everything to Patrick and he adored his grandchildren, granddogs and grandpig. Patrick took pride in his career as an Iron Worker, commemorating 50 years in his trade. He was able to build and fix anything, always giving a helping hand to anyone in need. Patrick lived a full and active life right up until the end, swimming, biking, walking through trails and taking on any project he could get his hands on. His Irish heritage was of great importance which has proudly been passed down to his children and grandchildren. <br> <br>Visitations to be held on Wednesday, May 24th, from 2:00 until 6:00 PM at Rideau Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4275 boul. des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec, H9B 2A6. <br> <br>A funeral mass to follow on Thursday, May 25th, at 11:00 AM, at St. Thomas à Becket Parish, 4320 St. Anne Street, Pierrefonds, H9H 4Y7. Thereafter, we invite close friends and family to a burial and small reception at Rideau Funeral Home and Cemetery.
