It is with a deep sense of sorrow and loss to announce that on Tuesday, December 31st, 2024, PETRONILO VALENZUELA passed away peacefully at the age of 75, surrounded by his loving family and Priest. He leaves behind his caring, faithful and devoted wife, Editha Nieva-Valenzuela, as well as his dear and loving three children: Eden Grace, Edwin (Samantha), Elbin Michael (Bernedette), and his sweet angelic grand-daughter, Alleria Sage. He will be greatly missed by his caring and tender-hearted sister, Victoria, his niece Regina (Cheryl), and great niece, Mia Aubrielle, as well as his relatives, and his treasured & loyal friends, near and far.
Born in Tarlac, Philippines, he studied and became a Civil Engineer, and married the love of his life, Editha in 1979. Fearless and determined, he moved to Montreal, QC, Canada to establish a new life and take on grand opportunities. Shortly after, their 3 children were born - Eden Grace, Edwin, and Elbin Michael. Petronilo was very well-known in the Filipino community and took part in various Filipino associations in Montreal. Although he loved his work as a civil engineer, he said that his greatest accomplishment was his family. He was extremely proud and happy to share all of life’s moments and new chapters his family took, with his friends. His passion and devotion for his family was everything. He carried such strong faith and belief. His love and generosity were limitless, deep, and unwavering. His children, as well as his daughters-in-law, were so proud and privileged to call him “Dad”/ “Father”, and they are honoured to carry on his love, light, and legacy. They saw the sacrifices he made to give them a happy life by protecting them and keeping them safe. He always guided and supported them in what life brought, through-and-through. He really was, and will always be, the best Dad.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff, at the Jewish General Hospital, for their endless support, kindness, compassion, and care to Petronilo. They would also like to thank the nurses at the CLSC Pierrefonds, who were always kind and compassionate with him.
Please join the family in celebrating Petronilo’s life.
