It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the transition of Ralph John Plata,
age 90, of San Juan, Trinidad and Tobago. Ralph departed this life on May 13th, 2026, at
Mount Sinai Hospital in Montreal, Canada.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Plata and Albertina Thomas, and his three
siblings, Leon, Walter, and Jeanette.
He is lovingly survived by his wife of 67 years, Josephine (Votor); their five children, Erica,
Joy, Anthony (Flavia), Alexander (Glenn), and Angie (Wayne); his 11 adored grandchildren;
and his 4 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his dear nephews, Michael, Adrian,
Tyrone, and Demitri.
Ralph was a loving, present father and a hardworking man who served as the cornerstone of
our family. He was a true mentor, teacher, and father figure to many.
He will be deeply missed. Please join us in celebrating his beautiful life.
The family will receive condolences on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Rideau Funeral Home (add address).
A ceremony will follow immediately in the chapel at 12:00 p.m.
