Though he worked many jobs, he spent most of his career as a proud industrial welder.

Growing up he enjoyed spending time with his cousins and being outdoors often sharing with us these fond memories. He joined the military at 16 and shortly thereafter met who was to be his wife for almost 50 years. He had a passion for painting, cycling, music and food, among other things. His artwork was simple, beautiful and genuine. His inspirations no doubt were influenced by the landscapes he encountered during the many road trips across Colombia and later on, across Canada. Music and food were part of the fabric of his life which he eagerly shared in addition to his signature smile and sense of humor which brought us so much laughter and joy.

He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Yolanda, his three children, Maria Isabel, Diego Raul and Steve, his brother Jairo, his sisters Francia and Yaneth, and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and seven beautiful grand children, Zoe, Yanik, Cali, Gabriel, Gael, Xavier and Clara.
