On February 25, 2025, Maurice E. Nerny passed away peacefully in Verdun, Québec at the age of 93 with his partner Cathy Hasibeder at his side.
He is preceded in death by his parents Eugène and Marguerite (Stäger), his wife of over 50 years Hélène (Bélanger), his son Jean-Pierre and his sister Jacqueline. He is survived by his daughter Michelle (Frank), his brother Jean-Jacques, his sisters Gisèle and Rachel, his grand children, his great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
Maurice graduated from McGill University in Montreal where he earned his degrees in Divinity. He served as minister with the United Church of Canada. He was dedicated to his ministry and to positively impact the lives of people around him. His compassionate interest in people was unparalleled.
We remember him as a fun loving and uniquely humorous man. He loved the sun, the beach, a delicious meal with family and friends and some good wine. He lives in all of our hearts.
The family will hold a gravesite service on Saturday, May 17th 2025 at 11:30 am at Rideau Memorial Gardens, 4239 des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux.
