<div itemprop="description">With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Ricky Michael Mendis on June 5, 2026, in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, at the age of 48. <br> <br>Ricky was the beloved son of Bettina Conklin (Glen) and Mohan Mendis and will be deeply missed by his sister, Sally (Martin), and his brother, Randy. He shared an extraordinary bond with his cherished niece, Gabriella, who was the light of his life and brought him immeasurable joy. <br> <br> He will also be lovingly remembered by his Aunt Jasmine, Uncle Nimal, cousins Keith (Colleen), Melanie (John), and Eric (Dominique), and all their children, along with all our extended family. <br> <br>Ricky will also be remembered by the many friends whose lives were touched by his kindness, generosity, and unwavering friendship. He had a remarkable ability to lift the spirits of everyone around him with his sense of humor and warm heart. Always willing to help others, he would have given the shirt off his back to anyone in need. <br> <br>We invite family and friends to join us as we gather to celebrate and remember Ricky’s life on June 27, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Boulevard, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Québec H9B 2A6. <br> <br>Interment will follow on June 29, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Rideau Memorial Gardens, 4239 Sources Boulevard, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Québec H9B 2A6. <br> <br>Although our hearts are broken by Ricky’s unexpected passing, we take solace in knowing that he is once again with his cherished Grandpa and Grandma, whom he loved so dearly.</div>
