It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Romano Paliotti, known lovingly to most as Ron, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Romano peacefully left us on July 4, 2025, at the age of 82.
Born in Pozza, Italy, on September 27, 1942, Ron carried his Italian roots with great pride throughout his life and shared many fond memories of his childhood in a small mountain village. In 1952, his parents made the brave decision to leave their homeland and begin a new chapter in Canada. Settling in NDG, Montreal, he would go on to meet his soulmate, Perry (née Sarlos), at a high school dance.
In 1968, Ron married the love of his life. Their marriage was a true partnership built on deep affection, unwavering devotion, and mutual respect. Perry stood by his side through every joy and hardship, supporting him tenderly through sickness and in health. Their bond was a shining example of love and commitment, and one of the greatest blessings of his life.
Together, Ron and Perry raised two wonderful children, Mark (Rosanna) and Nancy (Jason). Ron was a devoted and loving father who poured his heart into raising his children with warmth, strength, and wholehearted dedication. He led by example—offering thoughtful guidance, unwavering support, and a deep, enduring love that shaped their lives in profound ways. His grandchildren—Alex, Michael, Jackson, and Isabella—were the center of his world, and his love for them knew no bounds. He will be dearly missed by them, as well as by his sister Savina Santini (née Paliotti) and her husband Amelio, and his many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Ron was predeceased by his parents, Pietro Paliotti and Annunziata Paliotti (née Sacratini), his brother Giuseppe Paliotti, and his sister Emerinda Darterio (née Paliotti). He held their memories close to his heart throughout his life.
Ron was a man of many passions. He found peace and joy in his garden, often spending hours tending to it with care. He had a love for golf and enjoyed many memorable trips with friends and family. A lifelong hockey enthusiast, he played as a boy, coached his son’s team, and spent countless hours at the rink cheering on his grandsons—rarely missing a game.
A hardworking and honest man, Ron built a successful business from the young age of 18. He earned the respect of all who knew him, not only for his skill and entrepreneurial spirit but for his kind heart. His generosity, humility, and devotion to his loved ones will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Ron’s legacy lives on through his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, and the many cherished memories he leaves behind with family and friends. He will forever be in our hearts.
