It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Ernest Sawatzky ,who peacefully left us on May 22nd, 2026. Born on June 20th, 1938 in Winkler, Manitoba, he was a beloved spouse, partner, parent, grandparent, great-grandparent, sibling, and friend.
Ron was blessed to experience two great love stories in his life. First, married to his high school sweetheart for 36 years, the late Margaret Friesen. Then, for the last 27 years with his second love, Annie Drab (Kurdyla).
Ron will be dearly missed by his loving son Brendon and his wife Robin, his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchild, Jake (Lauren), Rhiana (Tim), and Elwood, his step-daughters Lisa and Nancy, step-grandson Adriano, his siblings, Marianne, George, the late Harold, Ed, Bob, Elaine and their spouses, and a multitude of relatives and friends.
Ron admittedly loved living. He did so until his last day with love, kindness, generosity, gratitude and grace, touching the lives of and inspiring all who got to know him.
