It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Ron, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished great-grandfather.

Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Renee (Soper), his partner and best friend for 64 wonderful years. He was a deeply caring father to his children, Sandi, Ken (Dany), and Leslie (Eric), and took great pride in his family. Ron’s joy only grew with his grandchildren—Lindsay, Kate (Chase), Olivia, Tristan, and Harrison (Sarah)—and he was especially delighted by his two precious great-grandchildren, “Little” Mac and Valerie.

He will also be fondly remembered by his sister, Cheryl (Gary), as well as his many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

He was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Ann, and his brothers, George, Frank, and Murray. Ron’s kindness, love for family, and gentle presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Ron’s happiest moments were often spent outdoors, doing what he loved most. In his younger years, winters were devoted to the ski slopes, where he proudly taught skiing at Mont St-Sauveur and Mont Habitant. His love of the sport became a family tradition, one that brought everyone together. The cottage they built in Morin Heights was the heart of many treasured weekends, filled with laughter, fresh snow, and time well spent together. His children still smile at the memory of Ron cross-country skiing from the cottage to the hill, then racing the kids downhill—without changing skis.

Ron was a long-time member of the Royal Montreal Golf Club, where he spent many years organizing the Tuesday Groupers and enjoying time with friends. He delighted those around him by continuing to play a few holes well into his 95th year.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the extraordinary caregivers at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence. Their compassion, kindness, and dedication provided Ron with comfort, dignity, and peace in his final days, for which the family will always be grateful.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in his name would be most appreciated to Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence.

Visitation will take place at the Rideau Garden Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd, Dollard-Des Ormeaux, Quebec on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., immediately followed by a celebration of life at 11:30 am and reception afterwards.
