<div itemprop="description">After a brave battle against cancer, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rothwell Bentley, on Tuesday August 3rd 2021, in Montreal, at the age of 81. <br> <br>Predeceased by his loving wife Juliet Chilcott, and his grandson Kai. He will be greatly missed by his children Colin, Brian, Sharren (Tony), Rothwell Jr. (Karen), Victor, Mark (Natasha) and Gillian (Delroy). He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Calvin, Oshay, Cyann, Breanna, Troy, Taaygan, T’Shante, Edoll, Elicia, Erica, Eucliff, Dane, Victor Jr., Tanesia, Tenesha, Charyssa, Shaylynn, Trey, Cyrus and Zarya; and great-grandchildren Tyrell, Dawn, Leemar, Syron, Mirialys, Valentina, Trinity and Tora. He also leaves behind his siblings Norma, Yvonne, Walter, Lennox, Siefred and Cletus, his nephews and nieces, as well many other family and friends in Canada and Guyana. <br> <br>Bonnie arrived in Canada on February 9th 1969 in search of a better life for him and his family back in Guyana. Which he accomplished very quickly by working his first job at Firestone then moving on to Avmore until he found his calling on the seas of the “Seafarers Steam Ship Lines”, where he worked on the waters until his retirement at the age of 72. <br> <br>He was a very proud member of the “Doric Lodge #103IUOPU”. <br> <br>Bonnie was an accomplished sought after Chef, and was extremely proud of his craft. He was also a father figure to many. <br> <br>He was an extremely happy man with a boisterous laugh that will truly be missed. <br> <br>Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 19 from 11am to 3:30pm & from 5pm to 9pm at Rideau Funeral Home (4275 Sources blvd, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC, 514-685-3344).
