Rudy Joseph De Paoli (66 years old), of Saint-Sauveur (Québec), passed away on January 21, 2024 surrounded by loved ones.

Rudy was born on January 5th 1958 to Rodolfo De Paoli (deceased) and Carolina Mittempergher (deceased) in Montréal. He is survived by his wife, Francine Morency, his sisters Manuela De Paoli (Enio Di Teodoro), Sonia De Paoli and niece and nephews Jessica and Ian Cuthbertson, Nico and Marco Di Teodoro.

Rudy completed his studies at Concordia University in Civil Engineering (1979), and a few years later, at McGill University where he obtained an MBA in International Business (1985). He was also Certified Professional, Personal, Team and Executive Coach with Integral Coaching Canada.

Rudy worked for many years in Marketing and General Management Positions within the office product industry (Gold Leaf Office Products, ACCO Brands Canada) and water feature industry (Aquascape Inc. Canada). If you were fortunate to have known him then, you would remember his humour, intelligence, and especially his verbal communication skills. He had the ability to impact people in entertaining and meaningful ways; co-workers, suppliers, customers or even people he just met in passing. He was kind, considerate, a lot of fun to be around and always very memorable. His intelligence didn’t create envy in others. It created warmth and gratitude.

Rudy was a seeker, a dreamer, a poet and an artist.

He had such a zest and passion for life, and all that it offered, like no one else. His appetite for life was insatiable.

His interests and hobbies, if we can even call them "hobbies", ranged from scuba diving, fine scotch and cigars, to music, philosophy, spirituality, mountaineering and camping, skiing, cooking and so much more.

When something caught Rudy's attention, he would passionately devote, invest, research, and comprehend a topic so fast, far and deep. Nothing was ever done in half measures in Rudy’s world.

He was the definition of a renaissance man – educated, refined, charming, witty, creative, and proficient in many pursuits.

His life philosophy was to squeeze the most, and last, drops of beauty, joy, wisdom, and love from all that he did.

His Journey was a brilliant, shooting star across a night sky, and for those of us who knew him, we were fortunate to witness the spectacle.

Throughout his life, he had a profound impact on people due to his ability to form unique relationships; making everyone feel special, seen, heard and loved. Through deep compassion towards individuals, Rudy offered various perspectives and had the ability to ignite a spark into a perhaps forgotten or unfulfilled dream, making anyone changed through their interaction with him.

Everyone will remember the seed he planted into their life.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring, a time Rudy felt recharged, in a manner that he would have appreciated and deemed appropriate. Once confirmed, information will be disseminated.

We invite you to share your feelings, memories, stories, or comments on the seed Rudy may have planted into your life.
