With heartfelt gratitude for a life well lived, we celebrate the memory of Mr. Russell John Christie. Russell passed peacefully on February 9, 2025, at 4:30 a.m., at 84. Born on July 27, 1940, in Verdun, Quebec, he lived with passion, purpose, and a love for community. A standout athlete, he played starting tackle for Mount Allison University’s football team, guided by his cherished coach and friend, Gus MacFarlane. Russell carried that spirit forward, becoming a dedicated coach and mentor, inspiring many with his wisdom and kindness.

His legacy of service and duty echoes in the hearts he shaped, the lives he lifted, and the countless souls who carry his wisdom forward. He gave endlessly—his time, strength, and love—never asking for anything in return. To be guided by him was to know unwavering support, to be coached by him was to feel unstoppable, and to be loved by him was to be truly seen. Though his hands are now still, his spirit remains, woven into the stories, lessons, and quiet acts of kindness.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Kelly; his boys, Michel and Richard; his daughter-in-laws, Manon and Arlene; and his grandchildren, Danielle, Jessica, and Melissa.
