<div itemprop="description">Samuel Gibson affectionately known as “Sammy,” born October 5, 1943, to Thomas Gibson and Agatha Gayle in the parish of Portland, Jamaica. He died at the age of seventy-eight (78) in Dollard-Des Ormeaux, Quebec, on December 24, 2021. <br> <br>He leaves to mourn his wife, Allison Gibson; son Wayne Gibson (Kathy-ann), daughters Melissa Gibson (Keon) and Karen Sinclair (Lloyd); grandchildren: Adam, Zoe, Kayla and Keonayanna; Sisters: Rachel McLeish (Lee -deceased), Ivy Heywood, Vera Bromfield (Danny – deceased) and brother Henry Russell (Beverly). <br> <br>Sammy migrated to Canada in the year 1975 where he continued his work as an electrical technician, working for a large international electronics company. He was a hardworking man, quick witted with a great sense of humor. Sammy charmed others with his jokes and laughter. <br> <br>He was an avid listener of music. When he was not listening to music, he could be found working in his garden which he loved. When he wasn’t doing neither, he would be making repairs on small electronic devices around the house. <br> <br>His family would like to thank the staff of both The Lakeshore General Hospital and The Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence for caring for him in his final weeks. <br> <br>The viewing will take place on Saturday January 22, 2022, from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at Rideau Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4239 Sources Blvd, Dollard-Des Ormeaux, Quebec H9B 2A6, Canada. <br> <br>A memorial service for Sammy will be held on Sunday January 23, 2022, at 1pm. <br>Please note that due to COVID restrictions, attendance is limited to twenty-five (25) people and pre-registration is required (call the Gibson residence).
