With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sandra Berghello on July 14, 2025, at the age of 55 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was a loving wife, devoted daughter, cherished sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Born to Lucia and Fernand Berghello on January 27, 1970, Sandra grew up surrounded by love and affection. Her close bond with her family was evident to all who witnessed the joy and togetherness they shared. As a dedicated wife to Peter Hanzelka, Sandra filled their home with love, laughter, and good food. Her unwavering support and deep compassion were cornerstones of their life together, creating countless cherished memories that will live on in Peter’s heart forever. Sandra was a source of encouragement and friendship to her siblings Domenico, Teresa (husband Richard) and Sofia (husband Robert) as well as her many nieces and nephews Amanda, Jacob, Sarah, Isaac, Sydney, Ryan, Ben, Brandon, Elliot, Henry and James. She was always ready with a kind word, a listening ear, and boundless support.
Her legacy of unconditional love extends beyond her immediate family, as she touched many lives with her generosity, kindness, and gentle spirit. Sandra will be remembered not only for her dedication to her family but also for her ability to bring people together and make them feel loved.
A celebration of Sandra’s life will be held on Monday July 21st with visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday July 22nd from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service & Reception where family and friends are invited to honor her memory and share in the love she so generously gave. This will take place at Rideau Funeral Home located at 4275 Sources Blvd, Dollard-des-Ormeaux.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Jewish General Hospital Palliative Care Center in Sandra Berghello’ s name, commemorating the care & support provided to Sandra and her family during her last days.
Sandra’s spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness that will never be forgotten.
Rest in peace, Sandra. You are dearly missed and will always be in our hearts.
