It is with GREAT sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Sharlene on Tuesday evening, July
8th,2025. Thus ending her courageous 4 year battle with cancer. She leaves to mourn her loving
husband and soulmate Richard Young, her three children Marie-Neige Giard, Marie-Josee Giard
(Stephane Cerutti) Step-daughter Carolann Daigle-Young (Adam Waller). Also her two grandchildren
Gabrielle Langlois and Alexandre Langlois. Predeceased by her father Johnny, her brothers Bill, John,
and Charles, she is survived by her mother Mary Olscamp (ne McGregor). Also by her two sisters
Jeannine (Mario Allaire) Sylvie (Rolland St-Martin), twin brothers Ronald (Rose Lao) and Donald. And
many nieces and nephews.
Sharlene was a Home Health Care person most of her life, working first for VON and then NOVA
providing respite for caregivers in their homes. When she retired, Sharlene joined the R.C.L. Branch 94
as a member as well as the Ladies Auxiliary. Not only did Sharlene volunteer relentlessly for any
function that the Ladies Auxiliary was involved with, she did baking for the Mobile Meals program.
She loved Trains and decorated her living room with anything related to them (it helped that Richard
worked for the CPR), but her passion was driving her motorcycle and camping with her family.
Playing cards with her friends was also high on her list of priorities. In earlier years Sharlene was
always up for adventure. She traveled to Australia/New Zealand with the Two Abreast Dragon boat
team where she went skydiving, knocking another item off her list.
Anyone that met her and knew her will miss her smile and positive ‘can do’ attitude.
‘Till we meet again My Love. - Richard
