<div itemprop="description">It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Stanca Ioana Ghenea Ghitulescu on August 25, 2026. <br> <br>Born to Viorica Popovici and Alexandru Ghenea, Stanca was a woman of remarkable tenacity, strength, and dignity, devoted to her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, and is now reunited with her beloved husband, Mihai Ghitulescu (1941-2016). <br> <br>She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Gabriela Andreea and Alina (Kristina); her cherished grandchildren, Gabriel (Kelsey), Chloe, Sienna, and Viki; her great-grandson, Benjamin; her sister, Sanda (Pavel); her nephew, Serban (Andrea); her niece, Irina (Charlie), their families and her cherished friends. <br> <br>The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to her caregivers and to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Montreal Neurological Institute Hospital for their exceptional care and kindness. <br> <br>Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Boulevard, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC H9B 2A6, on Friday, August 28, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br> <br>A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., followed by continued condolences until 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Stanca's memory may be made to the Montreal Neurological Institute Hospital (The Neuro) or to the Jewish General Hospital Foundation. <br> <br></div>
