On Saturday, June 26th, 2021, at the age of 46, Stéphanie Marie-Laure Pospodinis passed away suddenly in her apartment in Tsawwassen, B.C.

Loving mother of Olivia Eloise Sever (Buddy), daughter of Viktor Pospodinis, sister to Valerie Pospodinis (Tom Walli), Mathieu Rachlin (Karen Shearer), Gregory Pospodinis (Bryony Pospodinis), Amelia Rachlin (Chef), and Jessika Pospodinis, and numerous beloved cousins, aunts, and uncles. Predeceased by her mother, Christiane Marie-Jeanne Delage, grandparents (Petar & Irena Pospodinis, Jean & Ghyslaine Delage), and her beloved aunt, Mireille Delage. She also leaves behind Charley Sever, with whom she partnered in raising Olivia.

Stephanie was born April 14th, 1975, in Montreal, was raised in the West Island, graduated from PCHS in 1992, and is an alumna of 803 North Shore Sabre Air Cadet Squadron. In 1995 she graduated from John Abbott College’s Nursing program and worked both in Canada and the US as a pediatric ICU nurse. Stephanie was a strong swimmer, skier, lifeguard, world traveler, and homemaker extraordinaire. She recently graduated from Vancouver Community College’s Social Services, Addictions and Recovery Specialist Program and the Youth Specialist Program. After she completed her practicum at Luke 15 House, a home and school of love, hope, and healing for men with addiction, she stayed on as a volunteer while she contemplated the next step in her career.

Stephanie struggled her whole life with PTSD from childhood trauma, and later, addiction. She was a fighter though. Despite the many challenges she faced in life, she never gave up trying to make a difference where she could. The one constant in Stephanie’s life was her service to others. She never gave up trying right up until her last day.

May she be resting in peace with her mother, and may she know that she did make a difference and left a legacy that will live on in those whose lives she touched.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Luke 15 House or to JDRF Canada would have been appreciated by Stephanie.

A wake will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at the Rideau Funeral Home on Sources Blvd, DDO, followed by a funeral service on August 7, 2021, at the same place.
